Autumn hues

Spirited trees make me shiver, I pause in awe,
Morning beauty all around, without flaw,
Majestic rustling, bowing in their autumn red,
A coat of leaves, sprinkled in seasonal palette.

We are soul mates, share the pond to reflect,
We know well what nature comes to collect,
In return she will comfort and relieve our pains,
She promises spring, and nourish our veins.

Silent tall trees, it’s my sickness they banish,
Energy to live, I feel it, is what they replenish,
In deep respect I sit, feeling warming hues,
My spirit soars, forgetting the hospital blues.

The sun breaks through, lightens my despair,
Re-energised my lungs fill me with fresh air,
Farmers labor on, with bent backs they plant,
A daily plight, like the river, stopping they can’t.

Now I walk differently, transition all around,
Aware, my feet find the way, on steady ground,
Invisible birds flutter, their song so inspiring,
The river flows and whispers: what is so tiring?
